Dixon Lake

Dixon Lake is a climbing destination located in Escondido, about 35 miles north of downtown San Diego. Nestled within a city park, the area offers easy access and a few short, but very high quality routes. The climbing areas are a short hike from the parking lot, making it one of the more accessible crags in San Diego County.

Dixon Lake is best known for its high-quality granite, offering solid edges and thin to off width cracks. Climbing is possible year-round thanks to morning shade, but cooler temperatures in the fall, winter, and spring provide the best conditions.
